Apple has unveiled the iPhone 17 series and a new iPhone Air at an event on September 9, 2025, at Apple Park in Cupertino. Although the Air is the most talked-about model, the whole lineup was shown with camera and display upgrades. Since Apple promoted the Air as the thinnest iPhone, journalists have noted its 5.6 mm depth and titanium frame.

The iPhone Air starts at $999 and includes a 6.5-inch ProMotion display. The standard iPhone 17 uses the A19 chip and offers larger batteries and improved cameras, while the Pro models add the A19 Pro and advanced cooling. Furthermore, new AirPods Pro 3 were introduced with live translation and a heart rate sensor, and Apple Watch updates were announced with hypertension notifications and satellite messaging on the Ultra model. Preorders begin on September 12, 2025 and the devices are due in stores on September 19, 2025. Therefore customers should expect worldwide availability from that week. iOS 26 will add Live Translation in Messages and FaceTime, and new camera software will work with the updated hardware. These software features are designed to improve on-device translation and photo editing.
