Waves of Strikes: What Happened in Iran and the Region (March 2026)

At the end of February 2026 a large wave of air strikes hit Iran’s infrastructure. Explosions were reported in Tehran and in other cities. The attacks damaged military and government sites and caused many deaths.

The United States also named four service members who were killed after an Iranian drone struck a base in Kuwait. President Trump said that many people the U.S. had considered as possible new leaders in Iran were dead. The situation made travel and shipping harder. People in the region faced power cuts and long lines for food and water. Aid groups worry about hospitals and children. Many countries began to move their citizens out of the area.
