Anthropic and a Possible Record-Breaking IPO
Anthropic has filed a confidential draft registration, known as an S-1, with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on June 1, 2026. The submission begins a regulated review process that could lead to a public offering in the United States. Although the company has not set a date or final share count, the filing keeps the option to list open while regulators review the paperwork.
Several major backers now expect a market debut this autumn with a valuation near $2 trillion, which would surpass recent record IPOs. The lab reported rapid revenue growth earlier in 2026, and it closed a large Series H funding round that pushed its private valuation close to $965 billion. Reuters has reported that Anthropic is using internal forecasts that project roughly $190 billion to $200 billion in revenue by 2028, and bankers are using those projections when they advise potential investors.
Market watchers therefore say the IPO math depends heavily on those forecasts and on investor appetite. While a multi‑trillion dollar valuation sounds extreme, a high revenue run rate would support generous pricing. However, until a public prospectus appears, audited numbers and the final offer remain unknown.
