A Map Mistake at the All-Star: Wembanyama and France
At the NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles on February 15, 2026 the big screens showed a map when they introduced Victor Wembanyama. The picture did not look like the modern map of France. The east part of the country was missing. The missing areas included Alsace and Lorraine which are regions near Germany. Many people in France saw the map and reacted on social media.
The image lasted only a few seconds but it made many people smile and complain. French president Emmanuel Macron joked on X that France did not provide the map and he praised Wembanyama. Wembanyama played well at the All-Star events and he represented his country with pride.
