Charlie Kirk was a conservative activist and the founder of Turning Point USA. He was shot and killed on September 10, 2025 while speaking at Utah Valley University.

Prosecutors say video shows Tyler Robinson on the campus several times that day. An investigator said Robinson spoke with members of Kirk’s group before later returning in different clothes and shooting Kirk from a rooftop. Robinson turned himself in the day after the shooting. Robinson is 23 years old. Prosecutors say they will ask for the death penalty if he is convicted. The hearing took place in early July 2026 in Provo, Utah.
