What Happened with the Iceberg Lettuce Recall: Simple and Clear English

Taylor Farms has recalled iceberg lettuce that came from central Mexico. The recall covers products shipped to 27 states and items with expiration dates through Aug. 3. The products were shipped starting June 29 and were sold with expiration dates through Aug. 3. People should not eat the recalled lettuce and should throw it away.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention linked shredded iceberg lettuce served at some Taco Bell restaurants in five states to the outbreak. The parasite that can cause the illness is called Cyclospora. If you have diarrhea or stomach pain after eating lettuce, see a doctor. If you still have the lettuce, throw it away or return it to the store.
