Tesla's Q1 2026: Cars Still Earn, Robots and Robotaxis Take Time
Tesla made more profit in the first quarter of 2026, but the company is not back to its earlier high profits. The company reported revenue of $22.39 billion and net income of $477 million for Q1 2026. Many sales came from cars, and automotive revenue was $16.23 billion.
Tesla is also spending money on robots and self-driving taxis. The robotaxi service expanded to Dallas and Houston, but it has only a few cars and little sales yet. Elon Musk said Optimus would be “useful outside of Tesla sometime next year.”
