MoMath's New Home: Math, Exhibits, and an Art Gallery
The National Museum of Mathematics (MoMath) has moved into a larger home at 635 Sixth Avenue in Manhattan. The new facility is a lease for about 34,363 square feet and will open in February 2026. The space has been designed to include more classrooms, expanded exhibits, and event areas that can host public programs. The museum will also offer workshops, lectures, and family events throughout the year.
While MoMath operated a temporary pop-up at 225 Fifth Avenue, the permanent site has been prepared by architects and exhibit designers. Visitors will find a new gallery called Composite that shows art inspired by math, interactive installations, and separate areas for very young children. The museum has added new exhibits and kept many favorites, so families and school groups will benefit.
Since the move was announced, local coverage has described the change as a major expansion for public math engagement. Although square footage estimates have varied slightly in reports, the museum’s own press materials and real estate coverage confirm the lease at 635 Sixth Avenue and plans for dozens of new interactive displays.
