Amodei Meets Trump: A Private White House Dinner

Anthropic chief Dario Amodei will have a private dinner with President Donald Trump at the White House on Sunday evening, September 27, 2026. He leads Anthropic, a company that makes large AI models.

This meeting is the first one-on-one dinner between Amodei and the president. It comes after Amodei did not attend a recent state dinner. The private dinner comes two days before a larger White House meeting with top AI executives on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. Amodei has warned that AI should slow down for safety, but Mr. Trump has dismissed those cautions. Many news outlets reported the plan but details of their talk were not released.
