FDA, Flavors, and the New Path for Some Vapes

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration published a draft guidance on flavored e-cigarettes on March 11, 2026. The guidance explains how the agency will weigh the risk of youth use and the benefit to adult smokers. The public could comment on the draft through May 11, 2026.

On May 5, 2026 the FDA authorized four Glas e-cigarettes. The authorized pods are Classic Menthol, Fresh Menthol, Gold, and Sapphire. Gold is mango and Sapphire is blueberry. The company uses an age verification system that asks for a government ID and a smartphone. The FDA said the devices will only be sold to adults 21 and older.
